Where integration meets tradition
It’s time to look at healing in a different light.
With a belief in the need to encompass the emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of healing, our mission is to empower each guest to bridge the gap between mind, body, and spirit and become more fully embodied, integrated, and connected versions of themselves.
We believe in expanding the definition of what healing can look like.
Working with the Amazonian plant medicine ayahuasca under the guidance of indigenous Peruvian Shipibo healers, we collaborate with clinical psychologists who have extensive plant medicine experience to support a uniquely integrative approach to healing.
“Soltara” comes from the Spanish verb “soltar” which means to let go or release.
At our seaside haven in the mountainous tropical forest of Costa Rica, we’ve created a framework for you to dig deep, uncover the energetic roots of blockages, self-limiting beliefs, and negative programs that may be holding you back, and help you fully release them and step into your power.
Plant medicines such as ayahuasca, and other holistic therapies, ask us to connect to all parts of ourselves, and if there are painful parts, to confront them directly: they are speaking to us and want to teach us something. By shining the light of consciousness into the shadowed corners of our psyche, we are able to acknowledge, learn from, and release the suffering attached to them. Our highly skilled, gentle, loving Shipibo healers and facilitators will help guide you through this process of self-discovery through plant medicine healing, supportive holistic modalities, and modern psychotherapeutic practices.
Our Call To Service
Under the guidance of indigenous Peruvian Shipibo healers, we combine plant medicine ceremony, supportive embodiment practices, and a unique integration program to empower each guest in their healing over the long term. Our decades of combined experience holding ceremony and doing medicine work allow you to experience in-depth healing in a safe and loving environment. Immersed in the tropical forest and with stunning ocean views, we offer retreats of varying lengths, along with retreats featuring special guests, allowing you to find what works for you in order to step fully into your authentic self.
Integration means taking the knowledge and lessons learned during your ceremony experience and putting it into practice in your life. At Soltara, there is a strong focus on the integrative work that starts during your retreat and continues, possibly, for the rest of your life. We work with skilled integration specialists who have a foot in both Western and traditional medicine and can help you prepare for, maintain, and enhance the outcomes of the retreat experience. By doing the necessary healing work during your stay and understanding the tools and practices that can help maintain that work, you can open to the truth of who you are, what you want, and most importantly, how to get there.
Our vibrant online community fosters open dialogue, personal connection, and high-quality resources to help you learn from each other and expand your knowledge base. Our commitment to individual and global healing, on all levels, drives us to support the spiritual movement taking place. We aim to create a culture and community based on balanced, practical, accessible information grounded in a spirit of cultural awareness and education.
What our guests are saying
“Just finished my 7-day retreat at Soltara. It's been a life-transforming experience, beyond all expectations. It was important for me to feel safe and trust the expertise of the amazing, hard-working staff. My deepest gratitude to facilitators, and the shamans for their dedication to plant medicine in such a powerful way. If you are considering to have an Ayahuasca ceremony, Soltara is THE PLACE to do it. You are in good hands. The resort is beautiful, food incredible, and you get to look at the magical night sky from the star deck every night! Will be back, for sure.”Josie G
“The views are amazing yeah. And the food is also equally amazing if not more, but the best part of Soltara is the staff. Everyone on the team there excel at what they do to promote a healthy experience. I went there for the medicine but I'm going back in the future, for the caring people I met when I got there.”Justin S
“After going to Peru 4 times for Aya retreats I decided to try somewhere new, and I am so glad that I did! ...The facilitators are some of the most wonderful, caring and compassionate people that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They are there for you anytime that you need them for anything.”Tony P
“The food is excellent, the staff is some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and you'll be in good hands throughout your stay. It's not even that expensive. And flying to Costa Rica is much cheaper than flying to South America. My dear friend, I recommend Soltara with all my heart <3”Anders H
“Where do I truly begin? The week I spent at Soltara truly changed my life for the better. Words can not adequately express the beautiful ceremonies that took place there. Their absolute commitment to respecting ancient cultures is truly amazing.”Craig S
“Soltara Healing Center was a dream come true. I can’t thank them enough for the truly life changing experience I had (and I don’t say that lightly!). Everything exceeded my expectations, from the amazing facilitators to the healers, pasajeros, & staff.”Tiffany W
“I found Soltara to be consummate in every respect.. The [healers] are powerful healers, a point of view shared by everyone with whom I spoke and I hope to work with them in the future. The staff at Soltara was impeccable and the two facilitators while commanding respect were very approachable and gave support and consultations throughout the week. I believe [Soltara] will become the gold standard in ayahuasca internationally.”Herman W
“It was the best week of my life. People from all over the world who in a few days have become one. The structure of the week and the staff are just perfect. I leave Soltara Healing Center as a new man in body, mind and spirit.”Ernest B
“This place is amazing. The facilitators are fantastic at what they do. You’re paying for the reputation, safety, and their knowledge of running ceremonies here as well as a peace of mind. You walk away with something new and incredible.”Blake C
“I was blown away...I’ve never experienced a more organized, helpful and supportive staff. The tools and preparation they gave from start to finish made me wish my first experience had been as such. The ceremonies themselves were held in the traditional Shipibo way and there was never a time I felt alone, helpless or unsafe. I really can’t recommend a healing center more. I will be referring Soltara to anyone who asks me and I definitely will be going back anytime the medicine calls. Thank you to the incredible staff who are clearly there for the right reasons. Nothing but gratitude.”Natasha K
“Soltara was a life changing experience for me. The most unexpected part was how close I became with the facilitators and other guests. I walked away with a a whole new family, that I will cherish forever. The Ayahuasca itself is such a beautifully hard and blissful experience. I recommend it ten fold to anyone wanting to really do the work and receive the reward of what that entails. Soltara did a beautiful job at facilitating it. They eased us in and I always felt safe and supported.”Talyn F
“Whatever I say here won't do justice to the amount of love and support I felt from the team at Soltara. For me, working with plant medicine is always a vulnerable and raw experience. Knowing I was safe and supported throughout the entire week gave me peace of mind that allowed me to deeply open and focus on the things I needed to without worrying about being taken care of. Highly, highly recommend. I will be back!”Megan M
“Waking up every morning to a view of the ocean each morning set the tone for another restorative day. Every single staff member was sweet and attentive, I felt genuinely cared for and I am so grateful to them for their kindness! They were knowledgeable and intentional in every interaction. I went with my boyfriend, but had I been by myself I would have felt equally safe and comfortable. I will be back. ps. the food was excellent.”Wendy M
