Maestro Noe Lopez Lopez, known by his Shipibo name Metsa Ronin (meaning “Anaconda Man”), is a 48-year-old curandero from the San Francisco community in Yarina Cocha, in the Pucallpa region of Peru. With 28 years of experience as a healer, he works alongside his wife, Maestra Silvia, holding beautiful and potent ceremonies with their shared strength, wisdom, and lineage. His philosophy of healing is deeply rooted in addressing the energetic and spiritual causes of ailments. He believes that true healing involves uncovering the roots of difficult experiences, which often manifest as a combination of physical, mental, emotional, and psychological issues. Maestro Noe emphasizes that conventional medical approaches may fall short in providing complete healing, as they often fail to address these deeper, spiritual aspects. He acknowledges that each Maestro has their unique healing practices, formed through plant diets and personal insights. Similarly, he recognizes that every individual requires a specific healing approach tailored to their energetic and spiritual needs.
Maestro Noe sees his role as a facilitator, guiding patients to find solutions within themselves by connecting them with the energetic sources of their issues. He stresses the importance of a clear healing intention from both healer and participant, viewing this as essential for addressing physical, mental, and psychological concerns through spiritual means. Maestro Noe’s favorite plant is Chaikuni Rao, and he loves sharing Shipibo wisdom and stories with Soltara guests in between ceremonies.
