Carolina Pilara has fifteen years of experience working with plant medicine practices and indigenous cultures of Latin America; she spent much of that time living and training in the Amazon rainforest. She has held leadership positions at some of the world’s largest, most well-established ayahuasca and plant diet centers, ranging from being a facilitator, cultural advisor, intake coordinator, preparation and integration professional as well as being Soltara’s first retreat director. She has facilitated over a thousand participants in ceremonial retreats held in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, and the UK with a particular focus on the Shipibo ayahuasca tradition.
As a Latin American woman brought up in the global North, she has a unique ability to straddle the intersection between plant medicine practices and psychedelic healing approaches. She considers her work to be a bridge between cultures centered on providing safety, cultural context, a platform for radical transparency, and profound personal growth. Carolina’s intrinsic authenticity serves as a foundation of trust for her clients. In her current work, she helps clients prepare for, process, and integrate their ayahuasca experiences during all stages of their process.
